Speaking Visual
By George Ray Arruda

The simple truth of the matter is that words have an inherent failing; they seldom convey the true meaning of the author as well as the author intended. That is why we celebrate such creative masterminds such as Shakespeare. His sonnets, as wonderful as they are, take time to reveal their full depth. Poems, by their very nature, are layered emotion explorations. Prose takes time to mature its full emotional context and intent.
Words are seeds that grow into ideas, whereas images leap into the mind with emotion, color and composition nearly instantly. The mind and the heart are swept up by the visual, and guided down paths that might otherwise never have been walked. Some art affects us so strongly, that their impact can alter the course of a life, or change the path of a nation. If the Mona Lisa were stolen, and flaunted by its captor nation, diplomacy would suffer by the strength of the populace’s uproar for its return.
When art transcends the conventional, and reaches out into the collective nature of humanity, it matters not what language you speak, you still feel its full impact. Even if you were unable to read, the message would be clear, and some communication transferred. Visual emotional content reaches past the barriers of conventional communication, and stirs the fundamental core within the viewer. Sometimes it awakens within the viewer some forgotten memory, or reveals a whole new way of perception.
This is Why I Speak Visual.

Gorgeous piece, you just might to rethink the size. Contest rules state it has to be at least 2550x3300px at 300dpi.

Wow...

Damn. I don't even know what to say to this one, George. You keep out-doing yourself. This is beyond any descriptions, but simply has the ability to implore the viewer to FEEL something within them shift and change, reacting to what they are seeing.

Great work, thanks for sharing.

Thank you. I had fun with this one, playing with perception. The light was tricky though.
